Romania's women's national handball team clearly defeated the Kazakh team, 38-17 (14-9), on Sunday, in Castello, in its second Group C match of the World Championship in Spain, agerpres reports.
Sunday's success also secured the Romanian team's qualification for the main groups of the competition.
The top three teams qualify for the main groups of the competition.
Romania is the only team present at all 25 editions of the World Championship (including this one). At the previous edition, in 2019 (Japan), the tricolors ranked 12th.
Romania has won four medals at the World Championship: one gold (1962), two silver (1973 and 2005) and one bronze (2015).
