Vice Prime Minister Marian Neacsu will coordinate the Working group for improving cross-border connectivity, which aims to draw up a draft memorandum on negotiating the expansion of the cross-border connection between the national electricity systems of Romania, Austria and Hungary, in order to balance temporary energy deficits, Agerpres reports.
The decision signed by Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan on the establishment, organisation and functioning of the Working group was published in the Official Journal of Romania.
The group is made up of: Vice Prime Minister Marian Neacsu; the Secretariat-General of the Government; the Prime Minister's Chancellery; the Foreign Affairs Ministry; the Ministry of Energy; the National Electricity Transmission Company 'Transelectrica' , the document revealed.
At the meetings of the Working group, representatives of other authorities or public institutions may participate as guests, based on requests made by the Working group coordinator.
The Working group's objective is to draw up a draft memorandum on negotiating the expansion of the cross-border connection between the national electricity systems of Romania, Austria and Hungary, aimed at balancing temporary energy deficits, a memorandum will be submitted to Government approval.
The Working group gathers in working meetings at the request of the coordinator or any member.
Authorities, public institutions and entities within the Working group are represented at minister/secretary of state level or by senior officials appointed in accordance with the law, the decision mentioned.
The Working group presents progress reports on the status of achieving its objectives after each meeting or at the request of the Prime Minister.
