The General Directorate for Internal Protection (DGPI) mentions in a release sent to agerpres. on Thursday evening, that it firmly rejects the allegations according to which "the alleged document" that was published by the Rise Project would belong to the institution.
"The General Directorate for Internal Protection (DGPI) firmly rejects the allegations according to which the secret document would belong to the unit and, as a structure in charge with ensuring the coordination and control of activities for protecting classified information at MAI [Interior Ministry], it underscores that, in accordance with the legal provisions in force, this type of document is managed by the issuers," reads the release send by the Information and Public Relation Department of the DGPI.
Moreover, the unit rejects any attempt to involve it in political disputes, according to the release.
"In this context, DGPI categorically rejects any attempt to involve the unit in disputes of political nature and reaffirms its determination to remain an equitable, professional service, dedicated to fulfilling missions entrusted by the law," the quoted source mentions.
In the document published by the Rise Project, that would have been made in 2011 by the DGPI and sent to Quaestor Liviu Popa, the chief of the Police at that time, it's disclosed the information according to which the Tariceanu Government of 2005 would have earmarked funds to the Tel Drum company, without any bidding, for infrastructure repairs in Teleorman county, following the floods that occurred that year.
