144 new cases of SARS-CoV-2 infections, down 30.8%, three related deaths last week

The National Institute of Public Health (INSP) informed on Thursday that, between December 2 and 8, 144 new cases of SARS-CoV-2 infections were recorded, a decrease of 30.8% compared to the previous week.

According to INSP, 42 of the new cases are among reinfected patients, tested positive more than 90 days after their first infection, announce agerpres.ro.

Between December 2 and 8, three deaths were reported among people with COVID-19 who had comorbidities.

So far, 69,230 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died in Romania.

In Romania, 3,581,567 cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection have been recorded to date.

In the last week, 562 RT-PCR tests and 8,607 rapid antigen tests were conducted. The positivity rate was 1.6%, an increase of 0.6%.

To date, a total of 14,035,974 RT-PCR tests and 15,111,177 rapid antigen tests have been processed nationwide.
