The 2025 Digital Governance Summit will take place on November 25 at Cotroceni Palace, bringing together for the first time international leaders who have contributed to the digital transformation of public administrations in other countries, as well as Romanian decision-makers who can continue this change in Romania.
Organized by Edge Institute, under the High Patronage of the President of Romania, the event will also be attended by President Nicusor Dan, a release informs.
The international lineup includes Toomas Hendrik Ilves - former President of Estonia and architect of one of the most successful digital state models in the world, Janusz Cieszynski - Poland's former Minister of Digital Affairs, who coordinated the transition to modern electronic public services, focused on citizen needs.
Romanian's Minister of Economy, Digital Transformation, Entrepreneurship and Tourism Radu Miruta will join the discussions dedicated to the role of digitalization in increasing economic competitiveness and strengthening institutional trust.
"In a world where algorithms influence shape both information and public trust, digital governance is becoming an integral part of modern democracy. The Cotroceni Summit is more than a conference - it is a call for shared responsibility among the state, private sector, academia, and civil society. The digitalization of administration is not just about technology, but it's about the state's ability to respond effectively and to the needs of its citizens," the organizers emphasize.
The event will also launch the Edge Institute x AtlasIntel Study, which shows what Romanians think about the state's digitalization: where they put their trust, what their priorities are and what they expect from the digital administration of the future.
"Time is running fast, and technology does not wait. It is up to us whether we use it to rebuild trust in the state, to consolidate its efficiency and strengthen the local economy or whether we choose to remain spectators in a world that runs faster than us," declared Robert Berza, Edge Institute director, as cited in the release.
