United States Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker said on Thursday at the Cincu Training Range, on the occasion of Distinguished Visitors Day, that the final exercise of Dacian Fall 2025 (DAFA 2025) is an excellent demonstration of the full purpose of the North Atlantic Alliance.
He said that the past two days in Romania had truly confirmed what was already known, namely that Romania is becoming militarily strong and that its leadership is solid. Matthew Whitaker added that he had appreciated the time spent with the National Security Adviser and the Defence Minister, mentioning that they all were highly professional and determined to ensure that NATO's southern, eastern and south-eastern flanks remained strong and capable. The US Ambassador to NATO stated that what he saw today was an excellent demonstration of NATO's overall purpose, which was to allow the 32 member states to work together, share information and learn from one another in real time, because the threats are real and it was necessary to ensure that NATO capabilities are equally reliable.
The ambassador underscored that each of the members of the North Atlantic Council who were in Romania these days are certainly dedicated to NATO's future, just as the United States remains committed to NATO.
