Police registered 312 reports of incidents related to the electoral process across the country on Sunday, of which 114 were not confirmed and 56 are being verified.
"A total of 87 contravention sanctions were enforced: 42 fines worth more than 47,000 RON and 45 warnings. In addition, criminal files were drawn up for 65 possible offences," Ministry of Internal Affairs (MAI) spokesperson Monica Dajbog said in a press statement on Sunday.
9,500 people with 7,000 vehicles were checked, 1,800 fines were imposed and 24 offences were detected.
"For the coming hours, the MAI teams will focus their missions on maintaining public order and security, especially in the polling station area, so that the voting process goes smoothly," Dajbog said.
