70 musicians from ten countries will delight the public at the 2024 edition of SoNoRo Musikland, an event taking place between July 25 and August 4 and having the Romanian Cultural Institute as a main partner.

"The Romanian Cultural Institute is the main partner of SoNoRo Musikland running July 25 - August 4 in Brasov, Cristian, Rasnov, Halciu, Viscri, Mesendorf, Crit, Prod, Saschiz and Sighisoara. The current edition has 13 concerts on the bill - of which a symphonic concert and three surprise jam sessions. 70 musicians from 10 countries will delight the audiences every night with masterpieces by Luigi Boccherini, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Ludwig van Beethoven, Franz Schubert, Joseph Haydn, Franz Liszt, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Johannes Brahms, Bela Bartok and many others," the Romanian Cultural Institute (ICR) said in a release.

The ICR goes on to note that SoNoRo Musikland 2024 celebrates cultural heritage through classical music performed in picturesque settings in Brasov County (the Weavers' Bastion / the Artists' Bastion, Das Fort Boutique, Crit Cross in Crit, Mesendorf Gasthaus and the Mesendorf Fortified Church, and in six other new venues: the Cristian Culture House, the Museum of Brasov Urban Civilization, the 'George Baritiu' County Library, the Evangelical Church of Saint Bartholomew, Fuga Lolelor Cincu. Museum in Progress, and King Charles III's house in Viscri), and in the Festive Hall of the Sighisoara City Hall.

"Now in its sixth year, SoNoRo Musikland is already one of the emblematic events in the arts calendar assumed by the Romanian Cultural Institute, which offers a panoramic view of the cultural heritage, highlighted by contemporary artists. As a newer addition to the SoNoRo platform, Musikland has a spectacular personality, establishing itself in its own right in its cultural family and expanding the Land of Music with each new edition," Romanian Cultural Institute president Liviu Jicman said as cited in the release.

Among the musicians who will perform this year at the SoNoRo Musikland Festival are violinists Nicolas Dautricourt, Johannes Fleischmann, Clemence de Forceville and Abigel Kralik, violists Razvan Popovici and Mathis Rochat, cellists Raphael Bell, Adolfo Gutierrez Arenas and Benedict Klockner, pianists Cristian Budu, Ioan-Dragos Dimitriu, Gulru Ensari, Cristiana Mihart and Herbert Schuch, guitarist Alberto Mesirca and clarinetist Shirley Brill.
