A quarter of companies in Romania are founded or led by women, a gap addressed through education, mentorship, and data-driven public policies by the National Confederation for Female Entrepreneurship (CONAF) and its partners, said Cristina Chiriac, president of the organisation.
According to a press release sent to Agerpres, the National Forum "De Vocatie Antreprenoare" (Women Entrepreneurs: By Vocation), organised by CONAF, brought together over 400 participants on Thursday at the Mihai Eminescu National Theatre in Timisoara, including aspiring entrepreneurs, established business leaders, investors, and entrepreneurs.
"At a national level, a quarter of companies in Romania are founded or led by women, a gap that CONAF and its partners address through education, mentorship, and data- and impact-driven public policies. This percentage speaks to potential and the need for confidence. Confidence is built in community, where women no longer compete against each other but support, inspire, and grow together," Cristina Chiriac, CONAF president and founder of Flori de IE, was quoted as saying in the release.
The seventh edition of the National Forum once again confirmed its status as one of Romania's most substantial platforms for development and networking.
"With a balanced structure - inspirational talks, practical training sessions, debate panels, and meaningful networking opportunities - the event showcased role models who demonstrate through action that entrepreneurship and authentic leadership are built through resilience, education, and collaboration," reads the release.
Nicoleta Munteanu, vice president of CONAF and founder of Kids in Business, shared a personal reflection on the journey from dream to reality.
"Every woman who follows her vocation becomes, without realising it, a role model - for children, for the community, and for other women seeking the courage to start. Entrepreneurship is about building with purpose, value, and trust," said Munteanu.
The event also included a practical session, "AI for Companies and Marketing - powered by Google", led by Google Certified Trainer Madalina Stanescu, demonstrating how artificial intelligence can become a strategic ally in growth and efficiency processes.
"AI does not replace people; it complements them, challenging them to think more clearly, creatively, and efficiently. Entrepreneurs who learn to use AI will gain time and clarity in decision-making," Stanescu explained.
The series of events "De Vocatie Antreprenoare" is an initiative of CONAF, in partnership with the National Association of Entrepreneurs (ANAA) and the Women Entrepreneurs' Association (PFA).
CONAF is Romania's leading confederation advocating for effective dialogue with authorities, cooperation in shaping public policies that drive sustainable economic growth, and supporting entrepreneurs by recognising their achievements. It comprises 31 branches, three federations, 13 patronages, 38 associations, and 8,000 companies, employing over 245,000 people.
