The Agricultural Payments and Intervention Agency (APIA) has completed the controls related to the 2025 Campaign and is currently in the process of processing the reports in the IT system, in order to start advance payments on October 16, 2025.
"APIA has successfully completed all control activities related to the 2025 Campaign, namely the classic field control and the control through monitoring of areas. At national level, within the classic control, all farmers included in the control sample were checked, namely 10,085 agricultural holdings in the crop sector, totaling an area of 1,399,367 hectares and 318,347 plots checked on the spot. APIA inspectors made sustained efforts, including on weekends, to comply with the deadline deadline of 10.10.2025, established by the Operational Procedure on Classic Field Control - Campaign 2025, so that the advance payment campaign can start on time", reads a release from APIA sent to AGERPRES on Tuesday.
In parallel, the monitoring control, carried out based on images and satellite data obtained from the Sentinel satellites of the Copernicus program, targeted a number of 688,804 farmers with 5,591,760 controlled plots (crops). The results indicate a percentage of 98.46% compliant plots (coded "green" in the monitoring system), which demonstrates the efficiency of using new imaging technologies in order to establish the eligibility of agricultural plots declared in payment applications.
According to APIA data, farmers submitted 708,012 payment applications for an area of 9,875,710.11 hectares, between March 3 and June 13, 2025. Compared to 2024, when 730,395 payment applications were submitted for an area of 9,962,885 million hectares, this year's campaign saw an increase in the average area per farm and a decrease in the average number of plots per farmer / holding.
