Historic wines, over a century old, will enter the Christmas Auction that will take place on December 5, exclusively online, on the Artmark Live Platform.
According to a press release from Artmark sent to AGERPRES on Monday, there are wines that enter the auction that are normally found only in the cellars of large estates.
One such wine, Chateau Mouton-d'Armailhacq, Pauillac, from 1924, comes from the property that would soon after that year enter the Rothschild family. The year 1924 marks the moment when the Mouton estates began bottling entirely on the property, a "revolution" in Bordeaux. The remaining bottles are extremely rare.
Another historic wine, Bonnes-Mares, from 1937, comes from one of Burgundy's most prized terroirs and from a vintage considered by experts to be "among the best in the region" for that year. It is a wine 'born' before World War II.
Other rare wines include bottles of Petrus, Pomerol, both from 1984 and 2019 (Magnum), which enter the auction with prices between 1,000 euros and 5,000 euros, the famous Petrus being the wine that is known to have been served at the wedding of Queen Elizabeth II, which gave it the prestige of "royal wine".
In addition to the refined range of legendary wines, the Artmark Christmas Fine Spirits Auction also brings together other spectacular collections: an impressive selection of whiskies, rare cognacs, such as the spectacular Cognac Deau "La Vie en Or" (from 4,000 euros) - in a jewel-like bottle, stored in underground cellars dug into limestone and placed in a 24K gold hand-plated decanter, which is produced in extremely limited series (only a few per year) - and special champagnes, such as Champagne Salon, Blanc de Blancs Le Mesnil, from 2013, presented in a box of three 0.75l bottles, at a starting price of 1,500 euros.
The collection can be visited in the Cellar at the Cesianu-Racovita Palace.
