1233 - First documentary mention of a Ban of Severin (Military governor of Severin), namely Luca. First mention of the second highest official position in Wallachia, agerpres reports.
1456 - Vlad Tepes (Vlad the Impaler; Vlad Dracula) (1456-1462; 1476) enters Wallachia, defeats and kills Vladislav II. Start of Vlad Tepes' rule in Wallachia. His famous name stems from his patronymic - Draculea - meaning son of Dracul (the Dragon), as his father, ruler Vlad II Dracul was known, due to his membership in the Order of the Dragon
