There is a hacking industry outsmarting the cybersecurity industry and that is precisely why innovation is needed, Director General of the Romanian National Computer Security Incidents Response Team CERT-RO Augustin Jianu told an international conference on new global cybersecurity challenges on Monday.
'The hacking industry has somehow managed to outpace the cybersecurity industry. That is why cybersecurity needs innovation. We have gathered here today to discuss challenges to cybersecurity. We are discussing global issues related to cybersecurity,' said Jianu.
CERT-RO organised the 6th edition of the international conference that deals with new global challenges to cybersecurity, in Bucharest on Monday.
The conference is thought to provide a framework for cooperation to promote the best methods for implementing policies, sharing good practices and discovering new cybersecurity research and innovation methods..
The CERT-RO conference is part of the official schedule of the European Cyber Security Month (ECSM) 2016, EU's annual advocacy campaign that takes place in October and aims to raise awareness of cyber security threats, promote cyber security among citizens and provide up to date security information, through education and sharing of good practices. CERT-RO is the national campaign coordinator in Romania.
The campaign in Romania has an extended schedule from the official one, as events started in late September, to continue throughout November.AGERPRES
