Authorised hauliers association ask for a fixed 19 pct fee for insurance policies sold in Romania

The Confederation of Authorised Romanian Operators and Transporters (COTAR) requests the minister of Finance, Adrian Caciu, to introduce a fixed tax of 19 pct for insurance policies sold by insurance companies in Romania and the establishment of the insurance company CEC Asigurari.

"COTAR publicly addresses three requests to the minister of Finance: the introduction of a fixed tax of 19 pct for insurance policies sold by insurance companies in Romania, just as they pay in Germany; the thorough verification of the file of transfer prices practiced by the insurance market in Romania; the urgent establishment of the insurance company CEC Asigurari," a press release of the organization sent to AGERPRES on Thursday reads.

According to the document, in the countries where insurance multinationals come from, they pay a fixed fee, in different percentages, depending on the insurance class, but this fee cannot be deducted. For example, every car liability (RCA) policy in Germany includes a fixed fee of 19 pct.

In this context, COTAR, the Europa 2002 Transporters Employers Association - APTE 2002 and APULUM request the minister of Finance, Adrian Caciu, to urgently amend the Fiscal Code, because the "big fish" in the Romanian insurance market have benefited and continue to benefit from a favourable legislation and the supervision of some weak institutions of Romania, with serious integrity problems, which is why Romania has become the "milking cow" of the multinationals and, at the same time, the joke of Austria, being unjustly rejected from the Schengen area.

"Mr. minister of Finance, the time has come to fish for big fish! The donuts' shops and the old ladies who sell parsley and lovage do not represent a fiscal threat for Romania! Besides the money that leaves the country for Austria, from the insurance multinationals, there are also those that go to the Netherlands and to other countries. For example, from alternative transport. The Romanian state helped all these countries and multinationals. Companies can preserve their "cheat tax" of 25 pct of the receipts, and the difference of 75 pct is sent to UBER's collaborating companies, who pay drivers without employment contracts, and therefore without money coming into the state budget from their salaries. This is how, through special laws, for frauds, the most lucrative business, worth over one billion euros, was built in recent years. As long as scammers make money from humiliating Romanians who have to pay more and more taxes and fees, to cover the losses caused by those who don't pay them, the country that profits the most humiliates us one more time. At Romania's borders, the trucks stay for days and will continue to stay, because Romania was not accepted in Schengen," Vasile Stefanescu, president of COTAR, said.

The carriers' representatives believe that CEC Bank could play an important role in balancing RCA prices.AGERPRES
