National Liberal Party (PNL) candidate Klaus Iohannis won 66.09 pct of the number of valid votes cast in the second round of the presidential elections, and Social Democratic Party (PSD) representative Viorica Dancila, 33.91 pct., the spokesperson of the Central Electoral Bureau (BEC), Mircea Preotescu, informed on Thursday.
He specified that Iohannis garnered 6,509,135 valid votes, and Dancila - 3,339,922, according to the final result in the presidential elections.
Preotescu mentioned that at the BEC were recorded all the finding and centralizing minutes of the voting results drawn up by the county electoral bureaus, those of the Bucharest municipal districts, the electoral bureau for the polling stations abroad and the electoral bureaus of the polling stations.
The number of those who went to the polls was 10,031,762, representing 54.86 pct of the total number of voters registered with the permanent electoral lists.
The number of valid votes cast amounted to 9,849,057, representing 98.18 pct of the total number of voters who showed up at the polls.
According to the BEC spokesman, the total number of null votes was 182,648, representing 1.82 pct of the total number of voters who went to the polls.
