Approximately 147,700 people, Romanian and foreign nationals, and over 40,700 means of transport (of which 13,300 freight box trucks) underwent border checks at all of Romania's crossing points in the last 24 hours, the General Border Police Inspectorate (IGPF) reports.
There were about 73,900 travelers by 19,000 means of transport on the inbound, and 73,800 travelers by 21,700 means of transport on the outbound.
Roughly 37,800 people and 17,700 means of transport (6,400 freight box trucks) crossed the border with Hungary, of which about 20,300 people by 9,800 means of transport and 1,800 freight box trucks on the outbound.
In the reporting interval border police found 28 misdeeds (24 infractions and 9 contraventions) committed by Romanian and foreign citizens at crossing points and the green border and issued about 4,500 lei worth of fines.
Undeclared goods (which were to be smuggled into the country) were discovered, independently or in collaboration with other staff, exceeding the customs ceiling allowed or suspected to be counterfeit, in amount of over 3,500 lei.
16 foreign citizens who did not meet the legal requirements were denied entry to the country, and 27 Romanian citizens were also not allowed to leave the country for various legal reasons, Agerpres informs.
