The Board of the National Bank of Romania (BNR) will go on Tuesday 12 February to the Parliament, on Thursday announced governor Mugur Isarescu, in a press conference.
"Absolutely, yes. On 12, we have decided, the Board, will go to Parliament. The invitation is also from the Budget-Finance Committee. So, we have finally received a valid invitation," Mugur Isarescu said.
The central bank's governor added that so far he didn't answer an invitation because of a series of uncertainties.
Moreover, the BNR head asserted that he did not understand the persistence for his presence to the Parliament, because says he, the BNR is collectively led (...), has a clear law (...), its Board counts for nine persons (...), the BNR operates within a union treaty and cannot even receive suggestions from other state bodies.
