The Central Electoral Bureau (BEC) decided, in Saturday's meeting, to reject five candidates for the presidential elections in May and to register five other candidacies, Agerpres reports.
The rejected candidates are Diana Sosoaca (SOS Romania), Matei Vanea (independent), Paul Ispas (independent), Constantin Vieriu (independent) and Maria Marcu (independent).
The candidacy files submitted by Save Romania Union (USR) Chairperson Elena Lasconi, Cristian Terhes (Romanian National Conservative Party), Lavinia Sandru (Social Liberal Humanist Party), George Simion (the Alliance for Romanians' Union - AUR) and John-Ion Banu-Muscel (independent) were accepted.
BEC announces that the full text of the decisions will be published on the official website.
