Chamber Speaker Dragnea on Veterans Day: 'Past and present heroes, an example for future generations'

The heroes of the past and present, through the courage and the honour of the battle in the service of the country, are an example for the future generations, Chamber of Deputies Speaker and Social Democratic Party (PSD) leader Liviu Dragnea said on Sunday.

"A day of commemoration of the heroes who fought in the Great War, 11 November is the date when the armistice that ended WWI was concluded. Romania was preparing for the Union back then. One hundred years later, we dedicate this day, with emotion and gratitude, to the veterans of the theatres of operations who devoted their life to the Tricolour flag. To the Romanian servicemen who are fighting today under NATO, UN, OSCE and EU mandate and honour our people we thank! We honour, today and every day, the remembrance of those who left us and we bring homage to the heroes of the past and present who, through the courage and the honour of the battle in the service of the country, are an example for us and the future generations," Liviu Dragnea says in a message on Facebook.
