The President of the Senate, Nicolae Ciuca, laid, on Monday, a wreath of flowers at the troixa in Dobroutov, Czech Republic, erected in honor of the Romanian soldiers who gave their lives for the liberation of Czechoslovakia in the Second World War, on which occasion he showed that he is " a duty of the soul" so that the heroes of the Romanian Army who fell on the western front are not forgotten.
"Today we laid a wreath at the troixa in Dobroutov, in the Czech Republic, erected in honor of the Romanian soldiers who gave their lives for the liberation of Czechoslovakia in the last part of the Second World War. Our soul duty is to we never forget the heroes of the Romanian Army who fell on the western front. Our soldiers liberated Northern Transylvania and continued to fight in Hungary, Austria and Czechoslovakia until the final victory. Their love for the homeland was demonstrated by the sacrifice of them, of those who fulfilled their missions with honor and devotion. (...) Eternal glory to the Romanian military!" Ciuca wrote on Facebook.
He recalled that the Romanian Army fought on the western front until May 9, 1945, suffering total losses of almost 170,000 soldiers (dead, wounded and missing).
The President of the Senate, Nicolae Ciuca, is in Prague on Monday and Tuesday, where he is participating in the second Parliamentary Summit of the Crimea International Platform.
