The National Meteorological Administration (ANM) issued, on Saturday morning, Red Code warnings of heat wave that will affect the southern counties of Oltenia and Muntenia on Saturday and Sunday, including the Capital City on the last day of this week, Agerpres reports.

According to meteorologists, on Saturday, June 22, in the counties of Dolj, Olt, Teleorman and the south of Valcea and Arges counties, the heat wave will be persistent and intense, and the temperatures will be particularly high for the fourth consecutive day. The maximum temperatures will be 38...39 degrees, and the minimum will be around 20 degrees (tropical night). It will be hot and the thermal discomfort will be especially pronounced, and the temperature-humidity index will exceed the critical threshold of 80 units.

At the same time, on Sunday, June 23, the Red Code warning of persistent and intense heat, heat wave and particularly accentuated thermal discomfort will be valid in Dolj, Olt, Teleorman, Giurgiu, Ilfov counties, in the south of Valcea, Arges and Dambovita counties, as well as in the municipality of Bucharest.

Air temperature will be particularly high, for the fifth consecutive day and will reach 38...39 degrees Celsius.
