Code Yellow warning for wind intensification in 23 counties, in effect throughout Saturday

The National Meteorological Administration (ANM) issued two Code yellow warnings for strong wind on Friday, valid throughout Saturday, covering 23 counties in Moldavia, Dobrogea, Transylvania, and Muntenia, inform Agerpres.

According to the forecast, the first Code yellow warning is in effect from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and targets temporary wind intensifications, with speeds of 50-60 km/h and isolated gusts of up to 70 km/h in areas of Moldavia, Dobrogea, southeastern Transylvania and western Oltenia.

Moreover, a second Code yellow warning for strong winds will be in effect on Saturday from 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. in the Southern Carpathians and the Curvature Carpathians, where gusts of wind are expected to reach 70-90 km/h and at altitudes above 1,700 meters, between 90 and 120 km/h.

The counties affected by the two advisory are: Suceava, Botosani, Neamt, Bacau, Iasi, Vaslui, Vrancea, Galati, parts of Buzau, Covasna, Sibiu, Prahova, Dambovita, Arges, Alba, Hunedoara, Valcea, Gorj, Caras-Severin, as well as Constanta and Tulcea.

Meteorologists mentioned that wind intensifications, generally reaching speeds of 40-50 km/h, will also be recorded on Friday (October 10) and Saturday (October 11) in isolated areas across most regions.
