The National Meteorological Administration (ANM) issued a Code Yellow on Monday for snow and blizzard until Tuesday, in mountain areas, but also in the largest part of Moldavia and Eastern Transylvania.
Throughout Monday, in the Meridional Carpathians, at altitudes over 1,700 meters, there will be snowfall and a new layer of snow will set. Winds will blow temporarily, with a force of 60-70 km/h, blowing the snow.
Furthermore, as of Monday, 13:00, until Tuesday, 08:00, snowfall will be considerable, and the deposited fresh layer of snow will be consistent.
On the other hand, meteorologists also issued a Code Yellow for black ice, valid until Tuesday morning, locally, in the counties of Buzau, Braila, Vrancea, Galati and the largest part of the Tulcea county. In these areas, there will be light precipitation, under the form of rain and sleet, which will result in black ice.
According to meteorologists, moderate precipitations will be present in the largest part of the country. In the high mountain area and the largest part of Moldavia there will be snowfall and a new layer of snow will settle, while the other regions will mostly have rainfall. Sleet will set, locally in the south-eastern area and isolated in the rest of the territory, ANM warns.AGERPRES
