As many as 19,649 new cases of people infected with SARS-CoV-2 were recorded in the last 24 hours in Romania, and 49 deaths, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS), the official novel coronavirus communication task force, reported on Friday.
This is a record number of infections since the beginning of the pandemic in Romania. The precedent was 19,105 cases, reported on Thursday, January 20.
"According to data available at the National Centre for Response Coordination and Management (CNCCI) as of January 21, 10:00hrs, EET, within the past 24 hours, 19,649 cases of SARS-CoV-2 positive people were recorded. Also, 49 deaths were reported," according to GCS, Agerpres informs.
