The new Secretary General of the Government, Cristina Traila, aims, through her work, to contribute to "the consolidation of an administration characterized by transparency and predictability, which will provide governmental stability, so that citizens' trust in state institutions will be strengthened day by day".
"Today I have the honor to announce that I have been appointed Secretary General of the Government of Romania. I undertake this mission with seriousness and with full awareness of the essential role that the General Secretariat has in ensuring the proper functioning of government activity. The position requires rigor, balance, professionalism and total dedication, and these principles will underpin all my activity. From this position, I will put all my skills, experience and energy at the service of Romania, as I did as a parliamentarian," Cristina Traila wrote on her Facebook account on Monday.
The secretary general of the Government believes "in a European, modern, integrated public administration, which puts the citizen at the center of its concerns."
"And in this sense, every action I will take will be guided by respect for the law, for citizens and for the public interest. I propose that, through my work, I contribute to the consolidation of an administration characterized by transparency and predictability, which will provide governmental stability, so that citizens' trust in state institutions will be strengthened day by day, through concrete results. In exercising my mandate, I will act with responsibility, exigency and respect for Romania and all its citizens, convinced that only through serious work, institutional stability and consistency in respecting democratic values can we build a public administration closer to citizens and more capable of responding to society's expectations", said Cristina Traila, who thanked her colleagues and from the PNL for the trust and support given "and, in particular", to Catalin Predoiu "for his constant support".
Cristina Traila was appointed to the position of Secretary General of the Government, through a decision signed by Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu.
The decision was published on Monday in the Official Gazette of Romania.
"Starting with the date of entry into force of this decision, Mrs. Cristina Traila is appointed to the position of Secretary General of the Government, with the rank of minister", the decision signed by Ciolacu reads.
