1951 - Birth of Professor, MD Ioanel Sinescu, current Rector of the "Carol Davila" University of Medicine and Pharmacy (since February 2012), head of the Fundeni Urologic Surgery Department, member of the Romanian Academy (since 2011)
1957 - Birth of singer-songwriter Stefan Hrusca
1972 - Death of writer Ieronim Serbu (b. Dec. 2, 1911)
1985 - Death of chemical engineer Cornel Bodea, corresponding member of the Romanian Academy (since March 21, 1963) (b. Aug. 28, 1903)
1991 - National referendum is held on the adoption of Romania's Constitution, with a turnout of 10,948,468 citizens of whom 8,464,624 said "yes"
