According to a press release issued by the Ministry of National Defense (MApN), the Romanian official underlined "the gravity of the situation generated by the invasion of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, which fundamentally changed the paradigm of European and Euro-Atlantic security".

Vasile Dincu thanked his Belgian counterpart for deploying a contingent of 300 troops with equipment in Romania, in the context of the deployment of the NATO Response Force, as part of measures adopted at allied level to consolidate measures to strengthen security on the eastern flank.

During the talks, Vasile Dincu pointed out the importance of supporting the Republic of Moldova and Georgia in their European course.

Another topic he addressed was the measures taken by Romania to support Ukraine, mentioning the operationalization of the logistics center in northeastern Suceava through which humanitarian aid from the country and abroad reaches Ukraine, as well as the process of managing the refugee influx.

"Minister Vasile Dincu hailed the very good bilateral relationship between Romania and Belgium, pointing out that there are very good premises to intensify bilateral cooperation. He also highlighted the extraordinary cooperation with the Military Hospital in Brussels, involved in treating Romanian patients with severe burns and thanked his Belgian counterpart for his support," the release further reads.
