DefMin Tilvar participates in Invictus team training: You are a model for Romanians
Defence Minister Angel Tilvar on Tuesday participated in the last training before competition of the Invictus team that will represent Romania, September 9-16, at the Invictus Games Dusseldorf 2023, told Agerpres.
"The Minister of National Defence, Angel Tilvar, participated on Tuesday, August 22, in the last training of the Invictus team that will represent Romania, between September 9-16, at the Invictus Games Dusseldorf 2023. During the training session at the sports hall of the General Staff of the Army, the defence minister encouraged the soldiers and extended his full support and appreciation for the example of courage and determination they set for the society and for the dedication with which they fight to represent Romania in sports competitions, the same as they did in the military operations in which they participated," according to the Defence Ministry (MApN)
Tilvar told the Invictus team that they are a model for Romanians.
"The Ministry of National Defence is interested in your activity, because what you have achieved so far has made us proud and obliges us to support you as much as we can, because you have paid a high price serving your country. You are a model for Romanians, because, by your example, you have demonstrated that even when we are in a special situation we can perform and push the limits. Go Invictus!" said Tilvar.
The team that will represent Romania at the competition will be made up of 20 wounded soldiers of various degrees of disability or limited fitness. They will compete in eight sports including seven individual sports - archery, athletics, indoor rowing, powerlifting, cycling, wheelchair table tennis and swimming - and one team sport - sitting volleyball.
