Chief of Defense Staff, General Daniel Petrescu, and Major General Joseph P. McGee, Commanding General of the 101st Airborne Division will participate on Saturday, starting 15:30, in the presentation ceremony of the US unit battle flag, which will take place at the 57th Mihail Kogalniceanu Air Base in (southeastern) Constanta County, the Ministry of Defense announces in a press release sent to AGERPRES.
On this occasion, the forces and capabilities belonging to 2nd Brigade Combat Team within the 101st Airborne Division, deployed in Romania following the decisions of the Madrid Summit, will carry out a demonstration exercise with soldiers of the 9th Mechanized Brigade Marasesti of Land Forces
At the same time, a technical exhibition will be organized that will include attack helicopters, tanks, armored amphibious transporters, artillery and anti-aircraft artillery elements, as well as specific engineering and first aid equipment from the endowment of the participating Romanian and American subunits in the exercise.
Starting at 16:45, General Daniel Petrescu and Major General Joseph McGee will hold a joint press conference.
