The 13th edition of the PROPATRIA International Festival will take place between October 1 - 30 in six countries - Italy, the Republic of Moldova, Germany, France, Israel and Romania, the organizers announced in a release.

The event will open on October 1 in Rome's Piazza di Spagna with a folklore show by the Professional Folklore Ensemble "Tara Vrancei", organized in partnership with the Romanian Embassy in Italy and the Rome City Hall, with the support of the Department for Romanians Everywhere, agerpres reports.

The festival will continue in Rome on October 4, when the Chamber Orchestra of the Santa Cecilia Conservatory will perform under the baton of Maestro Daniel Jinga, director of the Bucharest National Opera. Next in the program of the Rome cultural marathon is the concert by Vienna-based soprano Rodica Vica and pianist Mara Dobrescu (who currently lives in France and also acts as artistic director of the festival), followed by a piano recital by Adela Liculescu (based in Vienna) at the headquarters of the Romanian Embassy in Italy.

The festival's Moldovan section will see the music and poetry show "Applause for the Poet" taking place in the Organ Hall in Chisinau with actors Rodica Mandache and Eduard Pauna, and pianist Catalin Raducanu.

The cultural long-range program will continue in Berlin, at the premises of the Romanian Embassy in Germany, with the concert given by pianist Cristian Niculescu and cellist Radu Nagy.

Paris is next with the concert performed by violinist Irina Muresanu (based in the U.S.) and pianist Dana Ciocarlie (France) in collaboration with the George Enescu International Singing Competition in Paris.

The festival will continue in Israel with the recital of Bucharest-born pianist Michael Abramovich (who currently lives in Germany) at the Tel Aviv Conservatory, in collaboration with the Association of Romanian Language Israeli Writers.

The PROPATRIA International Festival will close in Romania on October 30 with the PROPATRIA 13 Extraordinary Opera Gala staged at the Bucharest National Opera, with soprano Letitia Vitelaru (Italy) and baritone Sorin Coliban (Austria) as soloists, accompanied by the Bucharest Metropolitan Orchestra, with Maestro Daniel Jinga at the conductor's desk.
