Minister of Economy, Digitalization, Entrepreneurship and Tourism Radu Miruta believes that Romaero has the potential to become a top European player in the aircraft repair and maintenance industry, taking into account that there are professionals stepping in "to contribute to the company's reconstruction," even if some step back when it "no longer leaves room for behind-the-scenes games.", inform Agerpres.

Radu Miruta conveyed on Wednesday in a press release that he took note of Bogdan Costas's resignation from the position of director general of Romaero from media reports. "I have not yet had any discussion with Mr. Costas regarding his departure or continuation at the helm of Romaero. I appointed a colleague who, together with the incoming special administrator, Catalin Prunariu, is tasked with analyzing the financial situation and contracts. A review meeting was scheduled for Monday. Suddenly, Mr. Costas, as far as I understand, wants to leave. He knows why, and especially why he is in such a hurry to do so. I don't speculate, I speak based on facts. And the data from the judicial administrator's report, published two days ago, show that current debts, incurred after the company entered insolvency, rose in just one month from 15 to 19 million lei," Miruta stated, as quoted in the release.

The Economy Minister recently announced the appointment of Catalin Prunariu as special administrator of the state-owned company Romaero, a mandate set to be submitted for the approval of the General Meeting of Shareholders on 29 September.

"If some step back when the company no longer leaves room for behind-the-scenes games, there are professionals who step in to help rebuild it and seek real solutions for the future. I thank Catalin Prunariu for accepting the challenge to get directly involved and contribute to transforming Romaero into a model company. This is not about politics, we didn't know each other before, it's about professionals who want to do their job," Minister Radu Miruta also said.

The appointment of Catalin Prunariu aims to save and restructure the company, which has a strategic potential for Romania's aeronautical industry and for the national economic security.

"Romaero has the potential to become a top European player in the aircraft repair and maintenance industry. The analyses clearly show this. My fight is simple: to bring to light the best Romania has to offer and get companies back on their feet so they can shine in Europe," the Economy Minister added.
