Economy Minister talks with European consumer protection commissioner about Wizz Air's problems
The Minister of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Tourism discussed on Monday, on the sidelines of the informal meeting of the ministers responsible for competitiveness, with Didier Reynders, the European Commissioner for Justice, with duties regarding consumer protection, about a series of topics of interest for our country, including the delays or cancellations of flights by the airline company Wizz Air, told Agerpres.
"In this way, the Minister Stefan-Radu Oprea expressed his concern regarding the problems that the airline company Wizz Air has in Romania, a lately many of its flights have very long delays or have been canceled at the last moment, which has led to dissatisfaction and complaints on the part of customers", reads a release posted on the Facebook page of the Ministry of Economy.
According to the cited source, Commissioner Didier Reynders showed his support for remedying this situation and specified that Romanian citizens can benefit from the support of the European Union for solving problems and recouping benefits by registering a request on the website of the European Consumer Center Romania (https://eccromania.ro/).
This service is a useful free tool, designed to help consumers when: they encounter problems with a product or service purchased from another European country; they want to know what rights they have during trips to another European state; they want to file a complaint against a European company, in order to solve the problem.
At the same time, Didier Reynders, the European Commissioner for Justice, said that he will pay a visit to our country at the end of the year.
For his part, Stefan-Radu Oprea declared that he appreciates the support offered to Romania in the Schengen accession process by the EU.
The Minister of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Tourism is at the informal meeting of ministers responsible for competitiveness in Bilbao, Kingdom of Spain, organized by the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union, between July 24-25, 2023.
