The seaside resorts of Eforie Nord and Eforie Sud top the preferences of Romanian Black Sea vacationers with 24.4 percent of the votes, followed by Mamaia with 20.7 percent, shows a survey by online booking platform Travelminit.ro.
The resorts of Venus, Saturn and Jupiter, along with the traditional destinations Neptun and Olimp also scored high. Romanians prefer these destinations either because they love the beach (30.3 percent), or because of the advantageous quality/price ratio (21.9 percent).
The Travelminit.ro survey found that approximately 54 percent of the Romanian holidaymakers who choose the Romanian seaside have a holiday budget for this summer between RON 1,000 and 3,000, and 70 percent of the respondents said that they have already booked or are going to book a stay at the seaside.
According to the survey, the Romanian seaside had a very busy first half summer season, especially due to the two big music festivals organized in early July that drew tens of thousands of festival-goers to the Black Sea resorts.
"Hotels are still the most sought accommodation type on the Romanian coast, with 57.7 percent of the participants in the survey preferring them. Next are the guesthouses and apartments, which are the predominant option for larger groups. At the same time, 40 percent of Romanians go for accommodation with no meal plan, which means that most prefer flexibility in this regard and go dine at terraces and restaurants, as well as at self-service eateries," the release mentions.
As far as the length of the stay is concerned, most Romanians prefer 5-7 days (54 percent), and only 10 percent would have a vacation longer than 7 days. Last but not least, the personal car remains the main means of travel to the sea, especially since most tourists go on vacation with their family or as a couple.
