The Emergency Management Department (DSU) has signed a collaboration protocol with the GlobalFocus Association, an independent centre for international studies specialising in security research and analysis, European affairs and good governance.
The strategic partnership will focus on preventing and combatting disinformation, information manipulation and hybrid threats that can negatively influence society's ability to react in major emergencies, DSU said on Wednesday in a social media post, agerpres reports.
The collaboration between DSU and GlobalFocus is useful given the association's expertise in security, transatlantic cooperation and global trends.
"Together, we will make sure that our response to emergencies is coordinated, based on accurate and verifiable information, thus strengthening national resilience. The objective of this partnership is to develop effective communication and action strategies, aimed at protecting citizens from complex risks and securing a rapid and efficient reaction. A first step of this collaboration will be the development of a training guide against online disinformation and manipulation, which will be available on the National Training Platform fiipregatit.ro," according to DSU.
