Foreign tourist flights from the Maramures International Airport (AIM) will increase in frequency as of May, while regular domestic flights will maintain their normal flight schedule, the local airport's development director, Ionut Caraba, told AGERPRES on Tuesday.
"The new flight schedule that will start on May 27 on the Antalya-Baia Mare-Antalya route will have two flights on Monday, and one flight on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Basically, the destination Turkey becomes the most requested holiday route this year departing from Baia Mare," said Ionut Caraba.
According to him, the airport will also serve weekly tourist flights to Greece, Egypt and Tunisia.
"From June 3, flights to Hurghada, Egypt, scheduled by tour operators for every Tuesday, will be operated. Flights to Monastir, Tunisia will also be operated as of June 3. The flight will be operated weekly, every Tuesday. From June 6, a direct flight to Heraklion, Greece is scheduled every Friday," Ionut Caraba also specified.
He also specified that regular flights on the Paris-Baia Mare-Paris and Bucharest-Baia Mare-Bucharest routes will maintain their frequency according to the schedule established by the airlines.
AIM also serves medical, business and charter flights from the airport in the town of Tautii Magheraus
