The chairman of the Social Democratic Party (PSD) Marcel Ciolacu announced on Thursday, on Facebook, that the value of food allowance for hospital patients will be doubled, and the same value will also be granted for children's meals in foster homes.
He added that this "is a measure of common sense", given the economic context, and the measure will quickly be adopted in Parliament, Agerpres.ro informs.
"In PSD's governing we opened hospitals again for chronic patients, but we also needed to urgently improve the food that people are receiving while being admitted. All other special food norms, such as for the patients that need to follow a certain diet, based on their illness, will double," Ciolacu mentioned.
Food allowance for sick people in hospitals will go up to 22 RON, from 11 RON currently, and for children in foster care will go up to 22 RON, form 16 RON currently.(1 EUR = 4.9466 RON)
