Foreign direct investments in Romania, up to EUR 2.779 billion in the first six months

Non-resident direct investments in Romania rose to EUR 2.779 billion in the first six months of 2025, up from EUR 2.414 billion in the same period of 2024, according to data from the National Bank of Romania released Wednesday.

Equity investments, including estimated reinvested profits, totaled a net value of EUR 1.776 billion, while intragroup loans reached a net value of EUR 1.003 billion.

The balance-of-payments current account recorded a deficit of EUR 13.897 billion in the first half of this year, up 18.9% compared to EUR 11.682 billion in the first six months of 2024.
