The Government on Thursday approved the continuation of nine investment contracts worth a total of 1.41 billion lei, for which Romania receives 373 million lei in funding through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP).
The memorandum aims the continuation of financing contracts suspended under the provisions of Emergency Ordinance No. 41/2025, managed by the Ministry of Energy, agerpres reports.
"These investments are commitments undertaken by Romania through the NRRP and concern the production of green hydrogen, the production, assembly and recycling of photovoltaic panels, as well as new renewable energy generation capacities. The memorandum will allow the resumption of NRRP-funded investments, ensure the absorption of external funds, the fulfilment of targets and commitments, and support Romania's energy transition and energy independence," the Government said in a press release.
It is noted that the Ministry of Energy's budget already includes the necessary allocations for the planned payments this year for the nine financing contracts.
Payments for 2026 will be included in next year's budget planning, both for the grant component and the loan component, the cited source further mentioned.
