The grand prize of the 8th edition of the Traian Vuia International Salon of Inventions and Innovations Timisoara, which took place between October 8 and 10, was won by the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, for the invention "Parallel robot for recovering the mobility of the inferior limb".
The president of the Inventors' Society of Banat (SIB), Remi Radulescu, who organized the event, said on Tuesday that the authors of the winning invention - Doina Pisla, Iosif Birlescu, Calin Vaida, Bogdan Gherman, Paul Tucan, Giuseppe Carbone and Nicola Plitea - detached themselves from the other participants in the Salon through novelty, applications, advantages, price and social, economic and environmental impact, told Agerpres.
At the current edition of the Traian Vuia International Salon of Inventions and Innovations Timisoara were presented 365 inventions and research projects from seven countries (Republic of Moldova, China, Serbia, Hungary, Montenegro, Syria and Romania) and were participating 15 universities, two high schools, 20 research institutes, two LLCs, six individuals, three associations.
SIB offered diplomas and medals that symbolize bronze, silver and gold, and eight awards of excellence were awarded to personalities with special merits in research, but also in promoting invention. Also, 36 special prizes were offered for special inventions.
The fields of inventions presented at the Salon were diverse, from mechanics, engines, machinery, industrial processes, security, alarm rescue to household art, commercial, industrial and office material and equipment, agriculture, animal husbandry, horticulture, gardening, clothing, textiles, medicine, musical instruments, means of transport, food, paramedicine, health, environmental protection or games.
