The Regulatory Committee of the National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE) has decided to rise the household gas price beginning January 10, 2018, so that the monthly average bill will go up 4.8 lei, the institution said in a release. Watchdog representatives explained that alongside the coming in force on April 1, 2017 of the OUG 64/2016, the price of natural gas from the domestic production is the result of the free interaction of demand and offer on the market and is the main component of the fixed unitary amount for covering gas procurement costs and implicitly of the household end prices.
The gas procurement cost of 81.48 lei/MWh for the interval April 1, 2017 - March 31, 2018 was approved at the ANRE Regulatory Committee session of March 30, 2017. ANRE officials said the impact on the rates charged by the regulated household suppliers is 0.68 bani/KWh, which stands for a rise of 4.8 lei of the monthly average bill.
