Helicopter maker IAR Brasov ended the first nine months with a net profit of 20.81 million lei, up 38% compared to the one achieved in the same period in 2024, according to preliminary data sent to the Bucharest Stock Exchange on Friday.
In the first nine months of 2024, IAR Brasov had recorded a net profit of 15.04 million lei.
The company reported a net turnover of 310.9 million lei, compared to 293.76 million lei for the first nine months of 2025.
Operating income totaled 292.51 million lei in the first nine of 2025, compared to 308.36 million lei in the same period last year.
Operating expenses increased to 308.36 million lei, compared to 290.85 million lei in the corresponding period of 2024.
IAR Brasov is a specialized unit for maintenance, repairs and overhauls for Puma and Alouette III helicopters. The company develops modernization programs, performs periodic inspections, overhauls and ground and flight tests, provides multiple after-sales services, namely maintenance, spare parts and equipment replacements, technical assistance, pilot and technician training and runs "Follow-on-Support" programs for the Puma and Alouette III helicopter range.
IAR is also involved in the manufacture of assemblies, subassemblies and parts for various manufacturers in the global aeronautical industry (aircraft structures, electrical wiring).
The main beneficiaries of the Puma and Alouette III helicopters made/repaired in Brasov are: the Ministry of National Defense (Romanian Air Force and Naval Force), the Romanian Intelligence Service, the Ministry of the Interior, Eurocopter (Airbus Helicopters), Denel - South Africa, the UAE Air Force, the Pakistan Armed Forces and Air Force, the Ivory Coast Ministry of Defense, the Lebanese Air Force, the Omani Air Force etc.
IAR Brasov is listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange, and the main shareholder is the Romanian state, through the Ministry of Economy, Digitalization, Entrepreneurship and Tourism.
