IGPR: Preventive measures against 21 people, ordered in last two weeks for economic crimes

In the last two weeks, the police have implemented 162 home search warrants and 80 arrest warrants and ordered preventive measures against 21 people in criminal cases regarding economic crimes, Agerpres reports.

Also, insurance measures of 54,825,166 RON were instituted to recover the damage caused.

According to a press release from the Romanian Police sent on Saturday, the search and seizure warrants were implemented from March 21 to April 3, under the coordination of the Economic Crime Investigation Directorate within the institution.

Over 4,100 grams of jewelry or precious metals, about 3.1 million cigarettes, almost 15,700 kilograms of loose tobacco, 200 liters of alcohol, 1,229,642 RON, 13,075 euros, 3,010 pounds sterling, 13,100 kilograms of food products and other goods, worth 3,292,466 RON, were confiscated, the cited source states.
