President Klaus Iohannis will attend a European Parliament's (EP) debate on the future of the European Union in Strasbourg on Tuesday, where he will give a speech on Romania's vision on this issue.
According to the Presidential Administration, the president's participation in this event takes place in the context of the EU's future debate series to which the heads of state or government of the EU member states are invited. This initiative was launched in January and will continue until the end of the tenure of the incumbent European Parliament in May 2019.
Part of his visit to Strasbourg, Iohannis will have a meeting with Antonio Tajani on Tuesday, and they will hold a joint news conference.
Iohannis is also scheduled to attend a working meeting with the president of the European Parliament, the president of the European Commission, representative of the Austrian presidency of the EU Council and the leaders of the EP political groups.
He will also have a meeting with European People's Party (EPP) group chairman Manfred Weber.
