Over 60,000 used electrical and electronic household appliances will be replaced with new ones, with low energy consumption, through the "Rabla (scrappage) for household appliances" Programme, with a budget amounting to rd 20 million lei.
"The "Rabla for household appliances" Programme, at its first edition, has a multiannual character and is applied nationwide. Its goal is to increase the collection of electrical and electronic equipment waste, as well as to stimulate the purchase of low energy consumption, energy efficient home appliances. The eligible expenditure under the programme are for the purchase of washing machines, refrigerators or refrigerator-freezers or chest freezers and air conditioners. We chose these three types of appliances because they are present in most Romanian homes, they are indispensable and bulky. I would like very much that, together with the two producers in Romania, Electrolux and Arctic, jobs are created and we can thus see other companies with factories in Romania next year. For this programme, we have available 60,000 vouchers, so Romanians who want to buy a refrigerator, a washing machine or a new air conditioner can do so as of Wednesday, 19 December, at 12:00hrs, on www.afm.ro," said the Environment Minister, Gratiela Gavrilescu on Tuesday.
The value of the vouchers granted to Romanians who want to change their household appliances varies between 200 lei and 400 lei.
The list of merchants who have been approved in the "Rabla for household appliances" Programme is published on the AFM website and includes approved traders and manufacturers such as eMag, Cora, Carrefour, Flanco, Media Galaxy, Electrolux, Altex, Auchan, Beko and Arctic.
The budget of the new program is of 20 million lei, and the run-up period will extend until the nearly 60,000 vouchers are given.
Individuals can access "Rabla for household appliances" Programme as of 19 December
