Interior Minister Carmen Dan on Monday filed a criminal complaint with the Directorate for Investigation of Organised Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) against Romica Parpalea, the denouncer in the Referendum court case and who has filed criminal complaints with the National Anti-Corruption Directorate (DNA) against her and national leader of the Social Democratic Party (PSD) Liviu Dragnea.
"Today, I have filed a criminal complaint for slander against Mr Romica Parpalea, given that there are other aspects of criminal law. I mean blackmail, obstruction of judicial bodies, an attack against the constitutional order and an organised crime group (...)," said Dan upon leaving the DIICOT headquarters.
She said that she did not meet Parpalea, but she thinks the man is "an instrument behind which other interests, mainly political, are hiding."
