The Romanian political class proved "democratic maturity" at the end of last year and a "solid" coalition was formed, President Klaus Iohannis said on Wednesday at the Cotroceni Presidential Palace at the annual meeting with the leaders of diplomatic missions accredited in Bucharest, Agerpres reports.
The government must meet the expectations of citizens who want concrete solutions to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and the energy crisis, for the full implementation of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, as well as for ensuring well-being and security, said the Romanian president.
"Through a process that has not been easy at all, but which is natural in any democracy, a solid coalition was formed in the Romanian Parliament. As a result, a Government was installed that must ensure the stability of the country and lead the Romanian society to a new stage of modernisation. This Government must meet the expectations of citizens who want concrete solutions for the management of the effects of the pandemic, the energy crisis, the full implementation of the PNRR, which is a top priority objective, and to ensure the well-being and security of our country and of its citizens in a broad sense," affirmed the head of state at the Cotroceni Presidential Palace.
