Japanese theatre, film and television actor Kuranosuke Sasaki has got his star on the Walk of Fame in Sibiu, after he said in a special conference at the Sibiu International Theatre Festival (FITS) that he had already done three projects with director Silviu Purcarete, with the Radu Stanca National Theatre in the city and Tokyo Metropolitan.
Sasaki starred at FITS in two performances of the show "Jonah" directed by Silviu Purcarete, Agerpres reports.
"I have already done three projects with Silviu Purcarete, with the Radu Stanca Theatre and Tokyo Metropolitan. I can say that the bond between us has become stronger and smoother in the soul," the actor said.
As a stage actor, his most important appearances are in the shows: "The Miser" (by Moliere, directed by Silviu Purcarete), "The Lion in Winter" (by James Goldman), "Richard III" (by Shakespeare, directed by Silviu Purcarete), "Bent" (by Martin Sherman), "Macbeth" (by Shakespeare, directed by Andrew Goldberg), " The Shawshank Redemption " (based on a novel by Stephen King), "Love Letters" (by A. R. Gurney). In addition, there are numerous roles in shows based on original Japanese plays and kabuki, according to FITS.
The Sibiu International Theatre Festival ended on Sunday evening, after offering the public 842 events, bringing 5,000 artists from 82 countries to the city.
This year's theme - THANK YOU - represented the connection between generosity, joy, the power to give, emotion and the relationship between artists and the public, mediated by all those who contribute to supporting this miraculous process.
A FITS application included all the events scheduled in this year's edition and allowed the customisation of the schedule. The FITS application could be downloaded for free both in Google Play, for Android, and in the AppStore, for iOS.
