Bucharest General Mayor Nicusor Dan, who is seeking a new term in office, said on Thursday that the June 9 elections are aimed at "civilization", "lawfulness" and "a dignified Romania in the European Union", urging the electorate to tourn out to the polls.

"The June 9 elections are about civilization, about lawfulness, they are about a dignified Romania inside the European Union, about honesty, about public administration professionals. I want to address special thanks to the general councilors from the parties who supported me and who are, some of them, here, for the very good collaboration we had. We had joint projects, we voted on the same side on important matters. Together we took the city in the right direction. We are holding elections on June 9. Don't forget that at the Mayor's Office there is a mayor, and there's a Council, and in the General Mayor's Office there is a General Council. I am waiting to cooperate with you in the General Council," Nicusor Dan said at an electoral event organized by the United Right Alliance in the University Square.
