Last year's state budget revenues up 9.8 pct, budget deficit at 21,448.2 million lei

State budget revenues increased in 2015 by 9.8 percent from the previous year and the budget deficit was 21,448.2 million lei, below the approved budget figures, informs a government release to Agerpres. According to the cited source, the government adopted on Wednesday a bill approving the general annual state budget execution account, the annual account for the execution of the budget of the National Single Health Insurance Fund and the general annual account for the public debt execution in 2015.

A second bill passed on Wednesday by the government approves the annual general account for the execution of the 2015 social security budget and the annual general account for the execution of the unemployment insurance budget for 2015, the government said. "Both bills are to be checked by Romania's Court of Accounts, according to Art. 56 of Law No. 500/2002 on public finances with subsequent amendments and additions," reads the release. On the same day the government also adopted a decision approving the general financial report of the State Treasury and this institution's budget execution account for 2015.

According to the approved normative acts the 2015 state budget revenues totaled 103,767.6 million lei, by 5,512.1 million lei below the approved budget figures, but up 9.8 percent (9,253.9 million lei) compared to 2014. The GDP share of the state budget revenues also increased in 2015 to 14.7 percent from 14.2 percent in 2014. State budget expenditures totaled 125,215.8 million lei in 2015, by 8,399.4 million lei less than the approved budgetary loans and the state budget execution ended with a deficit of 21,448.2 million lei - by 2,887.3 million lei (11.9 percent) below the final budgetary provisions for 2015, the government said. "Romania's public debt as of 31 December 2015 was 315,833.3 million lei, of which the government debt was 299,142.6 million lei and the local public debt amounted to 16,690.7 million lei," reads the release.
