Managers expect prices in construction and retail trade to rise in next three months
Romanian managers expect prices in construction and retail trade to rise over the next three months, as well as a moderate increase in construction and retail activity, according to data the National Institute of Statistics (INS) published Monday, told Agerpres.
In the August 2023 business survey, managers in the manufacturing industry forecast relatively stable production volumes for the next three months (circumstantial balance +2%). The number of employees is expected to remain relatively stable, with a circumstantial balance of 0%. For the prices of industrial products a moderate increase is forecast for the next three months (circumstantial balance +14%).
According to the estimates of August 2023, the construction activity will record a moderate increase in the volume of production for the next three months (circumstantial balance +8%). Managers estimate relative stability in the number of employees (circumstantial balance +3%). As for the prices of construction works, they are expected to increase (circumstantial balance +28%).
In the retail sector, managers estimate a moderate growth trend in economic activity for the next three months (circumstantial balance +10%). The volume of orders placed with suppliers of goods by commercial units will record a moderate increase (circumstantial balance +14%). Employers forecast for the next three months a moderate increase in the number of employees (circumstantial balance +12%). Managers of commercial companies estimate an increase in retail prices (circumstantial balance +25%).
According to the estimates of August 2023, the demand for services (turnover) will be relatively stable in the next three months (circumstantial balance +4%). The number of employees is estimated to be relatively stable (circumstantial balance +3%). According to the managers' opinion, the selling or invoicing prices of services will tend to increase moderately (circumstantial balance +9%).
